| The All Seasons Inn and Suites of White Sulphur Springs and students from White Sulphur Springs High School participated in the 2008 National Groundhog Day Job Shadow Day (NGJSD) in the national kick-off day of the program, February 1st, this year. | ![]() |
The purpose of the day is to enrich the lives of students by acquainting them with the world of work through on-the-job experiences and carefully crafted school curricula that ties academics to the workplace. Students are provided with the unique opportunity to experience the world of work through a one-day hands-on learning experience as they “shadow” a workplace mentor to get a close-up view of how the skills they are learning in school apply to the workplace. The effort helps junior and senior high students understand how their classroom subjects lead to success in the workplace. This program is developed in alignment with the Montana Standards for Career and Vocational Technical Education and Montana Standards for Workplace Competencies. The All Seasons Inn and Suites has been identified by the Montana Innkeepers Association as the only hotel in Montana participating in this year’s official program. Other hoteliers throughout Montana are being encouraged to participate in the program, as it supports the development and success of our nation’s youth. The yearlong program is a coordinated effort sponsored by Junior Achievement Worldwide, America’s Promise -- the Alliance for Youth, the U.S. Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Labor. National partners include the American Hotel and Lodging Association and their state affiliates, the Society for Human Resource Management, Cisco Systems, and the Association for Career and Technical Education. |
